Hi, I'm Tonja. Nice to meet you!
I am deeply grateful for the shared experiences, bonds and relationships I have been fortunate to cultivate in my life, and for the universal and timeless teachings of virtues and values. I hope you enjoy this book series, as much as I have enjoyed being a part of creating it.
In addition to writing & publishing, I’m also an entrepreneur wearing many hats, owning multiple businesses with my husband.
I have 2 beautiful teen daughters who have brought me more purpose, joy and gratitude than I ever could have imagined. I share time between Arizona and Idaho, home to my horse babies.
Fitness plays a vital role in my life and has taught me that prioritizing my own well-being makes me a better person for others.
Learn more about my journey and goals, below!
While raising my girls, I spent several years homeschooling and immersed myself in the parenting world, while being a Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer (CPDLT).
I've also served on the board of the Positive Discipline Association, that led me to spend countless hours in parenting groups and engaging with parents from diverse backgrounds. I became a mentor in what I like to call "connected parenting."
I've always been a lover of books and read to my girls daily when they were young. One of my absolute favorite children's authors was Bob Sornson, and a couple of years ago, I was introduced to him! I was honored to meet such a legend and trailblazer.
We connected over the modern day topics of parenting, became good friends, and have now joined forces to create the books series, Virtues and Values for Kids. Each book in this series will take readers on a fun journey, introducing a new virtue or value each time.
We hope they spark discussions in both homes and classrooms and instill these values in children at an early age.
Being present for my daughters is of utmost importance to me, and I cherish every moment spent with them.
I want to promote the importance of being present in our children’s lives, while also utilizing the benefits of social media in regards to sharing and connecting.
I hope to make an impact on not only parents, but business owners, teens, educators. We could all use a refresher in virtues and values and find ways to better ourselves.
That is why I also decided to start Hummingbird Press, a publishing company of my own that will allow myself & others to create books that will reach a multitude of audiences.
